About

My name is Mario Peshev (bg), I’m a WordPress Consultant (en) and Open Source advocate. After 10 years of programming and consulting for various platforms and languages I have successfully turned dozens of companies and individuals to Open Source platforms such as WordPress and solved thousands of real world problems in the best possible way.

I provide complete expertise in finding the best way to grow your business with WordPress. All key aspects are being taken into account – planned loads and visitor stats in the coming 3 years, key business concepts, target audience, marketing channels and conversion rates. We work together on building the right “solution agenda” for creating end applications fulfilling the requirements, targeting large audience being widely available on various devices.

My daily duties include WordPress architecture and engineering of modules and plugins (mostly on WordPress or Java), and consulting customers on WordPress SaaS architecture and code quality (see more Open Source). As a WordPress Ambassador for SiteGround I contribute actively to the WordPress project and to various tools from the ecosystem. I am also heading the WordPress Architecture and Consulting section of my WordPress agency DevriX together with a few more WordPress engineers and experts working on development, customization, scalability and code design.

I am one of the organizers of WordCamp Sofia and the founder of the WordPress Bulgaria User Group, and co-organized WordCamp Europe 2014.

Latest employment venture I took part in was full time WordPress development as a Lead WordPress Engineer for Placester, having fun digging into a number of themes, a framework, a free real estate plugin and a large multisite. Few months prior to that I resigned as a Technical Marketing Specialist at OnTheGoSystems, the company creator of the awesome WordPress plugins WPMLTypes and Views, after several months of WordPress development for the Views plugin.

Another technical aspect, I am a Sun Certified Java Programmer for the Java 5 platform and a Certified Secure Web Application Engineer (mile2). I’ve been developing web, software and mobile applications in Java, PHP and Python since 2005. Trained more than 50 courses for universities and private companies such as CERN (Switzerland), Saudi Aramco (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), VMware, Software AG, SAPLabs Bulgaria and more, in addition to a number of seminars and workshops (trainer’s portfolio here).

I’m happy to collaborate with anyone who spends time to improve the software industry and settle down within the core of the Open Source philosophy. Get in touch with me if you need a veteran WordPress consultant for your enterprise WordPress project or you want to give back to the community and need WordPress code audit, SaaS architecture, plugin development or getting a patch into the WordPress core. I charge $120/h for WordPress Consulting for up to 15 hours of work, or $80/h for longer consulting gigs. My engineering team is available for development projects ranging from $10,000 up to $25,000 or SaaS platforms with network design and configuration starting from $50,000.
